Sounds like the title of a new reality TV show! Our lives are fast and furious (movie title pun intended, continue reading) as we race, walk, ride, surf, skate, and fly by many of the beings that we coexist with on this fragile blue ball known as planet Earth. We all need to slow down and look around. As a child of the eighties, I like to quote movies and as the memorable Ferris Bueller says in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, “Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.” I am not sure Clay Bolt saw the movie, but he certainly has taken the notion of slowing down, looking around, and photographing our non-human neighbors.
Mark Godfrey, directory of photography at the Nature Conservancy, states in the video description, “How do you get your community to feel more connected to nature? Photograph it. Professional nature photographer Clay Bolt uses his lens to reveal the amazing wildlife and plants around us.”
